Event Manager – Golf & Group Events

Job Overview

The Event Manager is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of golf groups, corporate events, and association programs. This role ensures an exceptional guest experience while driving incremental food and beverage revenue. The Event Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients and resort departments, managing events from sales turnover through post-event billing and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

Event Revenue Optimization

  • Drive food and beverage revenue by creating opportunities for golf groups to dine on property, including golf course restaurants
  • Partner with Golf Sales to increase ancillary revenue and overall spend

Full Lifecycle Event Management

  • Execute assigned golf and group events from initial sales turnover through final billing and reconciliation
  • Ensure seamless planning, execution, and post-event follow-up

Event Planning & Client Experience

  • Collaborate with clients to customize events, including menu selection, room setups, and service details
  • Deliver experiences aligned with client expectations and resort standards

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as the central liaison between clients and internal departments (culinary, service, golf operations, accounting) and external vendors
  • Ensure all event logistics are clearly communicated and executed

Production & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors (e.g., décor, AV, rentals) to support event production and enhancements

Financial Oversight

  • Support deposit collection and payment processes in partnership with the Group Accounting team
  • Ensure all billing is accurate, complete, and reconciled in a timely manner

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain professionalism and composure in high-pressure environments
  • Effectively manage last-minute changes and ensure clear communication across all stakeholders

Client Responsiveness

  • Maintain a high level of responsiveness, adhering to a 12–24 hour turnaround on client communications

Industry Awareness

  • Stay current on event, food, and beverage trends; introduce innovative ideas to enhance the guest experience

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management preferred
  • OR 2–5 years of relevant experience in hotel/resort operations or event management
