MOD Store Coach - Assistant General Manager
As a Store Coach you are responsible for helping the General Manager (GM) to lead overall store operations, which includes being responsible for the entire store when the GM is not present. You will take your leadership skills to the next level by setting the tone, focusing on store performance, and leading all Squad to deliver the best possible MOD experience for guest sand for each other. You will coach, inspire, and demonstrate the MOD way. This is a fun and challenging leadership role on the path to becoming a GM where you delight our guests , grow our employees, and grow MOD - our Purpose is People!
Essential Job Functions
In partnership with the GM, ensure the store is set up for success and running smoothly through consistent and efficient store operations, quality Squad coaching, and a relentless focus on the customer experience.
  • Live the TSFR Road Map Components
  • Serve as an example for demonstrating the MOD values and behaviors and exemplify servant leadership.
  • Use good judgement as to when a matter needs escalations to the GM/AD and know when you must decide immediately for the health and welfare of Squad and the business as a whole.
  • Serve as a role model of outstanding customer service to help create that fun MOD atmosphere our guests expect and work to satisfy customer requests to the best of our abilities.
  • Responsible for coaching Shift Captains to ensure they are setting and sustaining the tone of the shift by keeping the energy high and creating a positive vibe and a welcoming atmosphere for both Squad and customers.
  • Along with other experienced Squad members, demonstrate, train and coach newer Squad (in a clear, compassionate, and direct manner) in all proper methods for accomplishing store tasks so that all our work meets health, safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure all stations, product and equipment are clean, well maintained and meet all quality standards including how the work is done.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Communicate to the General Manager how the Shift Captain is adhering to all Opening/Midday/Closing shift checklists.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all Operational Standards/Training Programs and resources and where to find them.
  • Celebrate the wins with your Squad and GM. This is pivotal to quality coaching and aligns with our MOD values.
  • Inform the GM of performance issues when another Squad member demonstrates that they cannot or will not perform key responsibilities of their position or adhere to MOD standards.
  • Direct contributor to reinforce a positive MOD Squad environment, recognizes team successes and communicates with General Manager regarding the MOD Squad morale
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Listen to, understand, and try to resolve Squad member concerns in the absence of the GM
  • Communicate any information from the Slice, Sauce, etc./other sources to Squad members
  • Manage cash within the shift in an accurate and responsible manner including making change, accessing cash in the safe, processing refunds, and other cash handling tasks as directed
  • May perform Shift Captain duties as needed which includes food safety oversight, PEPP talks, deployment rollout and modifications, opening/midday/closing checklists, equipment malfunction reporting, etc.
  • A Store Coach is not involved in hiring or firing decisions.
  • Several other duties could include assisting the GM with inventory and facilities maintenance, tracking Squad callouts, daily operational checklist, food safety assessments and fundraiser support

Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months in a Shift Captain position (any exceptions require RD approval) or 1 year of supervisory experience in a retail store or restaurant, ideally in a customer facing position
  • Passion for people and demonstrated experience successfully leading, coaching, training, and motivating front line employees
  • Ability to balance bigger picture operations thinking with strong execution and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize in real time, juggling multiple operational priorities
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during fast-paced and potentially stressful situations
  • Belief in our purpose, accepting of change and growth mindset.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must obtain a food safety certification and/or alcohol beverage certification within 30 days of your start date or sooner where required by law.
