GM Shop Foreman - Automotive - Chapman Chevy $125,000 - $140,000
Chapman Chevrolet is in need of a GM Master Technician with the desire to take a leadership role and assist our management team to take our store to world class level. Someone with the ability to help our technicians and Advisors advance and share his/her knowledge,
Job Responsibilities
  • Helps schedule shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required.
  • Prioritizes and controls all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.
  • Reviews job status frequently, logging status and reporting any change in time or cost estimates to the appropriate service advisor and/or customer.
  • Ensures that technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures.
  • Maintains timely and professional contact with service advisors and management.
  • Reviews hard copies of repair orders turned in by technicians to ensure that assigned work has been performed and the repair order has been completed properly.
  • Schedules maintenance for service department equipment.
  • Prepares a list of needed service department equipment, supplies and required repairs, and reviews with the service manager as needed.
  • Coordinates parts requirements with the parts department-contacting special order parts customers immediately upon receipt of parts orders to schedule appointment.
  • Advises parts manager and service manager of repetitive shortage so that corrective action can be taken.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles as agreed upon.

Compensation
Estimated compensation is $125,000 -$140,000 year.
