Global Learning information

What is a global learning?

A Global Learning job focuses on developing and implementing educational programs that enhance cross-cultural understanding, workforce development, and international competencies. Professionals in this field design training initiatives, learning strategies, and global knowledge-sharing frameworks for organizations or educational institutions. Their work often involves collaboration across different regions, ensuring that learning programs are culturally relevant and effective.

What are the main challenges someone in a global learning role can expect to face?

Professionals in Global Learning often encounter challenges such as adapting training content for diverse cultural audiences, navigating language barriers, and aligning learning initiatives with global business objectives. Managing time zone differences and coordinating with international stakeholders can also add complexity to project timelines. However, these challenges offer valuable experience in global collaboration and creative problem-solving. Employers usually support Global Learning teams with resources such as translation tools, cultural consultants, and robust communication platforms to help overcome these obstacles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the global learning position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Global Learning role, you need expertise in instructional design, cross-cultural training methods, and adult learning theory, typically supported by a background in education, HR, or organizational development. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning development tools, and sometimes certifications like CPLP or ATD are common requirements. Excellent communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to collaborate across global teams are valuable soft skills. These abilities are essential for designing, delivering, and managing effective learning initiatives that support workforce development across international markets.

About Les Mills

At Les Mills, we’re on a mission to create a fitter planet. Every week, millions of people experience our programs across clubs, digital platforms, and communities worldwide.

We don’t just build products—we build people. And when we elevate our people, we elevate everything: our customers, our partners, and the impact we create in the world.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Global Sales Training Manager to build and elevate world‑class sales capability across our global Customer Experience (CX) teams.

This role sits at the heart of our transformation to a value‑led, globally consistent sales organisation—designing and embedding scalable learning experiences that lift performance, strengthen customer conversations, and accelerate growth.

You’ll operate as a global centre of excellence, shaping how our teams learn, sell, and grow—while partnering closely with markets to bring capability to life locally.

What You’ll Do Build Global Sales Capability
  • Lead the design and evolution of our Sales Capability Framework across roles and markets
  • Define what great looks like—from foundational to mastery‑level capability
  • Embed consistent sales behaviours, standards, and methodologies globally
Design High‑Impact Learning Experiences
  • Create scalable, blended learning journeys (eLearning, live workshops, practical application)
  • Bring training to life through real‑world scenarios, simulations, and role play
  • Ensure content reflects deep understanding of our club ecosystem, instructor lifecycle, and product suite
Deliver & Elevate Performance
  • Facilitate engaging global training sessions (virtual and in‑market)
  • Coach and enable regional trainers to deliver with consistency and impact
  • Elevate capability in:
    • Consultative selling and discovery
    • Storytelling and program pitching
    • Commercial conversations and objection handling
Translate Insight into Action
  • Turn complex product, market, and customer insights into simple, actionable sales guidance
  • Develop practical tools including playbooks, pitch narratives, and case studies
Measure Impact & Drive Growth
  • Define and track success through capability uplift, behaviour change, and sales performance outcomes
  • Link training directly to pipeline quality, win rates, and deal progression
  • Continuously refine and improve based on data and market feedback
Enable Markets to Win
  • Partner with market leaders to drive adoption, localisation, and continuous improvement
  • Balance global consistency with local relevance
  • Build scalable coaching frameworks and reinforcement tools
What Success Looks Like
  • Clear, measurable uplift in sales capability across global teams
  • High engagement and adoption of global learning programs
  • Stronger, more confident customer conversations and pitches
  • Faster ramp‑up for new team members
  • Tangible link between training and commercial performance outcomes
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience in sales training, enablement, or capability building at scale
  • Expertise in learning design (eLearning, blended learning, applied practice)
  • Deep understanding of consultative / value‑based selling
  • Strong ability to translate complexity into clear, compelling narratives
  • Experience working across global or multi‑market environments
  • Confidence influencing without authority and working cross‑functionally
  • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and storytelling skills
Our Values (How We Show Up)

At Les Mills, our values guide everything we do:

  • United – we win as one team
  • Be Brave – we challenge, innovate, and take smart risks
  • Change the World – we create impact beyond ourselves

You’ll also embody our leadership expectations: Drive, Curiosity, Insight, Courage, and Impact—bringing energy, commercial thinking, and a commitment to lifting others.

Additional Info
  • Travel: up to 25% (global)
  • Flexibility required to work across time zones (NZ, US, Europe)
