What is global business transformation?

Global business transformation refers to comprehensive, enterprise-wide changes that organizations implement across multiple countries or regions to improve performance, efficiency, and competitiveness. It often involves redesigning business processes, adopting new technologies, and restructuring organizational models to align with global strategies. The goal is to ensure the business can adapt to evolving market demands, regulatory environments, and cultural differences on a global scale. Such transformations typically require significant coordination, change management, and investment to achieve lasting impact.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a global business transformation professional?

To thrive in Global Business Transformation, you need expertise in change management, project leadership, and business process optimization, often backed by a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with transformation frameworks, ERP systems (like SAP), and certifications such as PMP or Lean Six Sigma are highly valued. Strong soft skills in cross-cultural communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management distinguish top performers. These abilities are crucial for driving successful organizational change and achieving sustainable improvements across global operations.

How does a global business transformation professional typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during large-scale change initiatives?

Global Business Transformation professionals frequently work with cross-functional teams by facilitating alignment between departments such as operations, IT, finance, and HR. They act as liaisons to ensure all stakeholders understand the objectives, timelines, and expected outcomes of transformation projects. This role often involves organizing regular update meetings, managing communication channels, and addressing potential roadblocks collaboratively. Effective collaboration is key to navigating cultural differences and aligning global strategies with local execution.

Job description

Our Global Business Services (GBS) team serves as a trusted advisor and thought partner to CFOs, CAOs, and other executive clients focused on captive and outsourced operations. We leverage Deloitte's comprehensive capabilities, assets, and insights to deliver innovative, market-driven solutions. Our mission is to help clients modernize functions within their GBS organizations, including Finance, HR, Technology, Procurement, and other back-office and core business functions. We help organizations enhance financial and operational performance, manage risk, drive organizational change, and position corporate functions as strategic business partners.

GBS organizations are increasingly becoming the enterprise's nerve center for AI-enabled decision-making, resilience, and growth. We help clients make that shift by modernizing operations through ERP enablement, intelligent automation, generative AI, predictive analytics, and agentic AI.

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Senior Consultant to join our GBS team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate foundational skills in multifunctional GBS operations, operating model design, analytics, stakeholder management, and executive communication. This individual should understand how technology, process design, talent, and change management come together to improve GBS service delivery. An interest in how agentic AI and intelligent automation are reshaping operating models is essential. In this role, you will support strategic transformation programs, help develop governance structures, implement new capabilities globally, and optimize business processes-including exploring effective human-AI operating models.

Recruiting for this role ends on 12/31/2026.

Work You'll Do

As a Senior Consultant, Global Business Services, you will support the strategy, design, and implementation of business and technology solutions that improve operational effectiveness, cost efficiency, service experience, and organizational agility- increasingly through the lens of AI-enabled operating models. You will:

  • Support the design and implementation of GBS operating models, governance frameworks, and service delivery models across enterprise functions.
  • Analyze current-state processes, service delivery structures, organizational models, and enabling technologies to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in developing future-state processes and operating models that incorporate ERP, workflow, automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions.
  • Support research and evaluation of generative AI, agentic AI, intelligent automation, and predictive analytics use cases across GBS functions.
  • Help document hybrid human-AI workflows, including where work is best performed by people, automation, or AI agents and where human oversight or escalation is required.
  • Contribute to AI and automation roadmaps that help clients move beyond point-solution pilots toward embedded and scalable capabilities.
  • Support the development of governance and control considerations for the responsible use of AI and automation in shared services environments.
  • Develop executive-ready storyboards, financial models, business cases, recommendations, and presentation materials.
  • Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, status meetings, and working sessions.
  • Support change management activities, including communications, training, stakeholder engagement, workforce adoption, and transitions to AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, pursuits, practice development, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Collaborate with Deloitte's US India practice, adjacent practices, member firms, and client stakeholders to deliver global solutions.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.

A Successful Candidate Would Possess These Skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create clear, compelling, and visually engaging storyboards and presentations.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and provide clear guidance to others.
  • Ability to translate complex business, process, technology, and data concepts into actionable recommendations.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and their practical application to GBS operations.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new AI-enabled tools, methods, and ways of working.
