Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
As a GIS Service Supervisor Trainee, you will be part of the Grid Technology Service Substation Upgrades team supporting Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Service projects across North America. In this role, you will assist with assembly, testing, commissioning, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and upgrade activities for existing GIS installations. You will work closely with experienced supervisors, contractors, customers, and field teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule while gaining hands-on technical and project experience in the field.
How You'll Make an Impact
• Support and coordinate GIS Service projects at customer job sites to ensure safe and efficient execution
• Assist in troubleshooting and analyzing faults in GIS and related electrical equipment
• Collaborate with contractors, customers, and internal teams to support successful project completion
• Participate in field activities including assembly, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades of GIS equipment
• Support proposal development activities including planning, cost estimation, and manpower requirements
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical field
• 0-3 years of experience in electrical systems, field service, construction, power generation, or related industries
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills
• Strong teamwork, organizational skills, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced field environment
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% domestically based on project requirements
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
