Job Description

This role will oversee the management of the Business Finance function of the Olympus Gastrointestinal Solutions Division (GIS), a ~$4.5B revenue global division. The Senior Director will serve as a financial business partner to General Managers of GIS Business Units (GI, Service, GI-ET) and will support the Division priorities by providing analysis and strategic insights regarding growth/profit opportunities and divisional performance. This individual will lead a global finance team acting as financial business partners to GIS management providing strategic financial support, development of a short and long term financial plans, analysis of global P&L and working capital, and financial evaluation of market and investment opportunities. This person will actively engage with management at all levels globally to identify and implement best practices, remove barriers, and help drive financial success for the division.

Job Duties
  • Serve as a financial business and thought partner to global GIS leadership supporting business growth and profitability by providing periodic financial analysis (P&L, working capital, other financial KPIs) and strategic insight regarding business opportunities (market and product strategies business optimization M&A etc.) and business performance against expectations.
  • Constructively challenge the global GIS cross-functional teams in driving achievement of both short-term and long-term strategic and financial targets.
  • Lead and manage existing FP&A processes (Actuals and Forecasting/Budgeting) globally that provide financial and operational transparency to all GIS General Managers, Division Heads, and Strategy Team partners for purposes of enabling better/quicker operational decisions to help achieve short-term and long-term financial and strategic targets.
  • Control the rolling, monthly, quarterly and annual budget / forecast cycles globally related to the GIS Business Unit P&Ls, and in close partnership with Regional and Cross-Functional Finance teams.
  • Oversee the development of a long term global financial plan based on underlying business and portfolio drivers in partnership with global cross-functional stakeholders (including GIS Business Units, Functions and Regions).
  • Play a key role in supporting in building presentations for BOD (Board of Directors), GEC (Global Executive Committee), and GIS Executive Committee that enable clear and concise understanding of the financial story with linkages to strategic priorities.
  • Ensure an effective infrastructure exists for managing and diagnosing progress against financial objectives provide feedback to all levels of management regarding financial performance against plan.
  • Work cross functionally to promote sound business and investment acumen that drive financial performance and remove barriers to the financial success of the division.
  • Collaborate with financial leadership globally to continuously identify best-in-class financial practices, methodologies and tools, and oversee their development and implementation.
  • Responsible for hiring and retaining a diverse highly qualified staff, and for providing career coaching, growth, and personal development for direct/indirect report employees.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years relevant experience with a demonstrated supervisory progression, including financial business partnership to senior management
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in financial management and strategy, advanced accounting and financial analysis, and project management. Experience in SAP, Oracle and/or Hyperion preferred.
  • Must possess sound financial management competence and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to persuasively influence all levels of the organization.
  • Prior experience with global (Multi-National) organizations, preferably in MedTech industry, and financial systems.
  • Innovative with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Exhibits emotional intelligence to gain engagement and influence key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and influencing process and organizational change.
  • Must have strong PC Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Must demonstrate strategic thinking as well as the willingness to lead initiatives through implementation.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced ever-changing and evolving work environment.
  • Proven effective people leadership experience and expertise and ability to lead and develop global teams.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position in this location is $186,949.00 - $280,424.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
