Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated GIS Analyst to support Tetra Tech's Texas environmental business. The GIS Analyst is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and analysis of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data and applications supporting environmental consulting, engineering, and infrastructure projects. Working collaboratively with project managers, engineers, scientists, and GIS professionals, this position develops mapping products, performs spatial analyses, manages geodatabases, and supports desktop, web, and mobile GIS solutions for internal and external clients.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
  • This position will support commercial, industrial, and public-sector clients across multiple environmental programs and disciplines.
  • Create professional-quality maps, exhibits, graphics, and cartographic products using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, Spatial Analyst, and 3D Analyst.
  • Gather, analyze, integrate, and maintain spatial data from field observations, GPS, aerial photography, satellite imagery, existing maps, operational databases, and public data sources.
  • Develop, update, maintain, and perform quality control on enterprise geodatabases supporting multiple projects.
  • Perform spatial analyses and generate geographic statistics to support engineering, environmental, and planning projects.
  • Analyze GIS datasets for completeness, consistency, and accuracy in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Apply cartographic principles including projections, coordinate systems, datums, map scales, and map design standards.
  • Georeference historical aerial photography and maps with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Prepare metadata and technical documentation for GIS datasets and applications.
  • Assist with the development, deployment, and maintenance of ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, web GIS applications, and mobile GIS solutions.
  • Develop Python scripts and workflow automation tools to improve GIS processes and operational efficiency.
  • Support GPS data collection, field verification, and differential correction using Trimble Pathfinder Office or similar software.
  • Prepare maps, figures, reports, and technical documentation for internal and external clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to determine GIS requirements and deliver project solutions on schedule.
  • Perform occasional field work and travel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional GIS experience using ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience supporting environmental consulting, engineering, utilities, infrastructure, or oil and gas projects.
  • Experience with GPS data collection and processing.
  • Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification or Esri Technical Certification.
  • Experience with Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, and web GIS application development.
  • Working knowledge of GIS principles, cartography, spatial analysis, and coordinate systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting project deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Applicant must possess excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills;
  • Applicant must be able to drive and pass a motor vehicle records check.

No relocation costs will be provided.
