Job description

Make an Impact Behind Every Donation

Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Gift Processing Specialist to support our donor stewardship and fundraising operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring donations are processed accurately, securely, and efficiently, helping us advance our mission of creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

What You'll Do

Gift Processing & Data Management

  • Process and enter daily donations and revenue batches into Raiser's Edge CRM.
  • Code and track gifts, including in-kind donations and event-related contributions.
  • Research donor information and gift allocations to ensure accurate records.
  • Maintain donor records through updates, clean-up projects, and ongoing database stewardship.

Donor Support & Communication

  • Manage the Gift Processing inbox and respond to inquiries promptly.
  • Assist donors and internal teams with giving history, payment questions, receipts, and donation processing.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Development, Events, Programs, and local market teams to ensure smooth gift processing workflows.

Acknowledgements & Administrative Support

  • Support donor acknowledgements, tax statements, payment reminders, and tribute or memorial communications.
  • Process invoice requests related to fundraising events and organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical files related to gifts, deposits, and donor correspondence.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation for donations, deposits, donor communications, and gift records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor and financial information.
  • Support audit readiness through accurate recordkeeping and documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to meet recurring daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end deadlines.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and donor information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and research abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in high-volume data entry, nonprofit administration, gift processing, fundraising operations, or related fields.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or Raiser's Edge NXT.
  • Familiarity with payment processing and fundraising platforms such as Authorize.net, Square, Qgiv, Greater Giving, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, and other business applications
