Job description

Summary

Hyperion Materials & Technologies is looking to hire a motivated professional with commercial experience and exposure to manufacturing with strong business acumen for our Account Manager role.  The successful candidate for this role will work closely with the commercial team, operations teams, customer service team, and other key stakeholders to support the needs of customers.  The Account Manager will have responsibility for finding and developing prospective customers and growing sales with small-to-medium sized customers.  He/She will drive market share gain and increase profitability of the full Hyperion portfolio offering.

The Account Executive is a member of the Inside Sales Team and reports to the Inside Sales Manager – Americas and EMEA.  This position will be based in our Barcelona, Spain site; with possibility of up to 4 times a year travel to regional meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities: 

    • Actively identify, research, and engage prospective customers within assigned account base. 
    • Build and maintain a robust sales funnel through consistent outreach and pipeline development. 
    • Respond promptly to inbound leads and referrals, assessing and qualifying them as viable sales opportunities. 
    • Nurture prospects through the sales cycle with strategic follow-up and relationship-building. 
    • Establish rapport and trust with customers via phone calls, emails, online meetings, and occasional in-person visits. 
    • Apply consultative and value-based selling techniques to uncover customer needs and position Hyperion solutions effectively. 
    • Leverage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to document interactions, track opportunities, and manage pipeline stages.
    • Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting by maintaining up-to-date records in CRM.
    • Gather relevant information to address customer inquiries, requests, or complaints in a timely manner.
    • Provide knowledgeable responses by developing strong product and application expertise
    • Consistently achieve monthly sales targets and contribute to broader business objectives.
    • Conduct voice-of-the-customer analysis to capture insights on satisfaction, unmet needs, and pain points, feeding back into sales strategy.
Qualifications
  • Empathy for the customer, understanding the customer’s world and the role that Hyperion plays in solving the issues of the customer. 

  • Ability to take initiative and drive work forward with moderate supervision and guidance. 

  • Strong understanding of Hyperion technology and how it is applied by the customer, including quickly learning new products and applications. 

  • Superior prioritization, workload balancing, time management, and organizational skills.  

Education and/or Work Experience
    • Associates Degree, Diploma of Higher Education, or equivalent, BS in Engineering / Business a plus 

    • Fluency in English and Spanish is required; German, French, and/or Italian is a plu

Technical Skills/Physical Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in technical sales in a manufacturing business to business environment. 

  • Utilization of CRM systems, like SalesForce or Microsoft Dynamics. 

  • Utilization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Movex/Info M3 experience a plus.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
