WHAT IS THE JOB?
As an Assistant Technical Designer, you will support both the Ann Mashburn and Sid Mashburn teams in all aspects of the Technical Design and Product Development process.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?
  • Assist in preparing samples for fittings (organize, measure, inspect, steam, etc.)
  • Assist in creating and updating tech packs including digital sketching, technical details, measurements, garment construction instructions, etc.
  • Take detailed notes during fittings.
  • Assist with communicating fit comments to factories.
  • Assist with tracking Samples through all development stages.
  • Work in Gerber pattern software to make minor pattern adjustments.
  • Ship samples to vendors, as needed.
  • Communicate with models about fitting schedules.
  • Adhere to a Product Development calendar.

WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL SKILLS?
  • Degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related work experience.
  • General knowledge of menswear/womenswear garment construction, fabric, and tech pack creation.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc).
  • Proactive self-starter mindset. Eager to learn and grow within the world of Technical Design.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, follow through, and organizational skills are critical.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • An intermediate knowledge of Gerber pattern software.
  • The ability to work comfortably and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A problem-solver outlook with a "no task is too small" attitude.
