Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cutting Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team focused on producing high-quality protective garments. The ideal candidate will operate Lectra/Gerber and other automated cutting machines, manage material usage, and support inventory control. This role requires attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet production demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate Lectra/Gerber cutting machines and other automated equipment to cut fabric and materials according to production specifications.
Collaborate with other cutters and spreaders to maintain workflow efficiency.
Record and monitor material usage; maintain accurate inventory documentation.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on cutting equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Collaborate with production and inventory teams to ensure timely material availability.
Inspect cut materials for quality and accuracy before releasing to production.
Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience operating Lectra/Gerber or similar cutting machines preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret cutting patterns/work with online cutting software
Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Able to work in inches and yards
Able to spread fabric manually and automatically
Schedule Requirements:
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed to support production timelines.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity and visual acuity are required for machine operation and material inspection.
