Job description

Genesee County Catholic Schools is accepting applications for daily substitute teachers and long term substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. Our six schools located throughout Genesee County (Flushing, Flint, Fenton, Grand Blanc, Kearsley) are looking for faith-filled individuals who are energetic, dedicated, talented, and ready to teach all grade levels.
Substitute teachers have the ability to create their own schedule while being a part of a vibrant, faithful, warm community. It is a great way to stay engaged, make a difference, and earn extra money! Applicants should be practicing Catholics who are enthusiastic about incorporating the Catholic faith in their teaching. Preferred applicants have experience with students, love of children, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for the classroom. Participation in the VIRTUS child protection program will be required of anyone who is hired.
Applicants must have completed at least 90 semester hours of college credit, with at least a 2.0 GPA, at a four-year, regionally accredited institution. A valid State of MI teaching certificate or substitute certification is preferred but not required. Ability and desire to support Catholic school education required. Employment is contingent upon a background check, fingerprints, and completion of Virtus training.
