JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Field Generator Technician will install, repair and perform routine and preventative maintenance on back-up power systems for telecommunication companies, local businesses and emergency service personnel.
SALARY:
Salary is $25-$35 per hour based on level of experience as a generator technician.
Guaranteed 40 hours per week.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Able to perform generator repairs of commercial generators as well as preventative maintenance
  • Able to perform generator troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Maintains knowledge of updated changes in various models of equipment
  • Evaluates and recommends any required repairs
  • Excellent customer skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have 2 year(s) previous experience
  • Must be at least 23 years old
  • Must have G.E.D. High School Diploma
  • Possess basic electrical knowledge
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must have mechanical background. Generator mechanics a plus!

REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA'S):
  • Possess a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives
  • Must conform to company policies and procedures and meet company goals and objectives as well as protect the company assets and interests
  • Must have a current driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements
  • Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and able to bend and twist several times a day
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours, days, travel and stay overnight
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance, promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
  • Possess troubleshooting skills and have the ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment
  • DOT Medical Card required
