Job description

Lead the software strategy for Rohde & Schwarz Custom Solutions by defining scalable architectures, reusable software platforms, and technical standards that enable differentiated customer solutions across Aerospace & Defense, Wireless, EMC, Semiconductor, Automotive, and Test & Measurement markets. This highly visible technical leadership role combines software architecture, customer engagement, systems engineering, and cross-functional leadership to accelerate software-enabled solutions and recurring services growth.
Your tasks
  • Lead software architecture and technical strategy for customer-specific solutions, ensuring scalable, supportable, and reusable implementations.
  • Partner with strategic customers to define requirements, develop solution architectures, and deliver technical proposals, SOWs, and implementation plans.
  • Drive software enablement by integrating Rohde & Schwarz platforms with third-party test equipment, automation frameworks, and customer environments.
  • Establish reusable software frameworks, development best practices, and governance to accelerate project delivery and improve consistency across engagements.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional coordination throughout solution delivery, ensuring successful customer outcomes and continuous improvement.

Your qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in technical leadership or software architecture.
  • Expertise in C#, Python, C++, .NET, REST APIs, and modern software architecture principles.
  • Experience with automated test systems, RF test & measurement, or industrial instrumentation preferred.
  • Experience developing scalable software platforms, reusable frameworks, and customer-facing engineering solutions.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps or equivalent DevOps toolchains.
  • Strong customer-facing communication, systems thinking, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense, Wireless Communications, Semiconductor, EMC, or Automotive industries preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain required export compliance and/or security clearance as required.

The total compensation for this position is $150K-$185K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
