  • Clean, sandblast and/or paint product and parts
  • Disassemble transmission or valve body
  • Pack, label and palletize transmissions
  • Preassemble product.
  • Assemble transmission or valve body.
  • Inspect clean parts.
  • Perform related tasks as assigned.
Your Profile as a Transmission Mechanic
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of hand or pneumatic tools
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience
  • Basic PC skills (on/off, read screen, toggle, use mouse, check inventory)
  • Must be able to read work instructions in English.
  • Previous lean manufacturing experience helpful.

Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time; 60 minutes continuously up to 6 hours per 10 hour day, walk up to 2 miles per day, handle or feel objects and/or tools; operate power tools; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; bend, verbally communicate; and hear safety indicators. The associate must frequently and repetitively lift and /or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
