We are positioned to be your one-stop staffing resource for all your hiring & employment needs from entry-level to executive, spanning across all industries.Position SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on Plant Manager/General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our clients custom machining and fabrication facility. This position is responsible for managing production, preparing quotations for machined parts and assemblies, supporting engineering activities, coordinating shop personnel, and maintaining strong customer relationships. As a key member of our leadership team, the Plant Manager will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while driving continuous improvement in quality and productivity. This position is ideal for an experienced manufacturing professional who enjoys working in a small-company environment where leadership, technical expertise, and customer interaction are equally important.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Plant ManagementOversee the daily operations of the machine shop and manufacturing facility.Schedule and prioritize production to meet customer delivery requirements.Assign work and provide direction to shop employees.Monitor workflow, labor utilization, and production efficiency.Ensure quality standards and safety procedures are consistently followed.Coordinate equipment maintenance and facility needs.Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.Estimating & QuotingPrepare accurate quotations for machined parts, fabricated assemblies, tooling, and custom machinery.Review customer drawings, specifications, and requirements.Estimate labor, materials, machining time, outside processing, and delivery schedules.Work with customers to clarify project scope and recommend manufacturing solutions.Engineering & Technical SupportAssist with product and process engineering.Review engineering drawings for manufacturability.Develop manufacturing methods and production processes.Support tooling design, fixtures, and custom machine projects.Work closely with customers on design improvements and technical solutions.Customer RelationsServe as the primary contact for customers regarding projects and production schedules.Maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication.Conduct occasional customer site visits to review projects, installations, or resolve technical issues.Coordinate project status updates and delivery schedules.LeadershipSupervise, coach, and support a team of approximately 15 employees.Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.Assist with hiring, training, and employee development.Maintain accountability for productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.QualificationsMinimum 5–10 years of manufacturing experience.Previous experience managing or supervising production personnel.Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, tooling, and manufacturing processes.Experience estimating and quoting custom manufacturing projects.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.Working knowledge of machining operations including CNC and conventional equipment.Strong organizational and project management skills.Excellent communication and customer service abilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP or manufacturing software is preferred.Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.Experience in a custom job-shop environment.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.CAD/CAM experience is a plus.CompensationSalary: $70,000 annuallyPerformance Incentive: Eligible for an annual incentive equal to 5% of the company's corporate profit, subject to company policy and profitability.
