In this role, you will: 

  • Own the finance functional design across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash and bank management, and budgeting.
  • Design the chart of accounts, financial dimensions, dimension sets, account structures, and advanced rules to support both statutory and management reporting.
  • Define the legal entity and organization hierarchy design, including intercompany accounting, consolidation, elimination, and multi currency treatment.
  • Configure and validate posting profiles, journal controls, workflow approvals, and segregation of duties within the finance modules.
  • Design the financial close process, including subledger to GL reconciliation, financial period close workspace, and close calendar and task assignment.
  • Perform fit to standard analysis on finance requirements and recommend standard functionality, ISV solutions, or Power Platform extensions before custom code.
  • Author functional design documents and configuration workbooks that developers, testers, and client teams can work from directly.
  • Design the financial reporting layer using Financial Reporter, including report definitions, row and column definitions, and reporting trees.
  • Advise on Business Performance Analytics, Power BI, and Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse where reporting requirements extend past Financial Reporter.
  • Map client reporting requirements back into the dimension and account structure design so the reports are supportable without rework.
  • Position first party Copilot and agent capabilities in finance where they deliver measurable value to the close and to day to day accounting work.
  • Lead requirements and design workshops with controllers, accounting managers, and finance process owners.
  • Build and demonstrate the configured solution through conference room pilots and iterative design reviews.
  • Define the finance data migration approach, including opening balances, open transactions, fixed asset history, and DMF entity selection and mapping.
  • Support user acceptance testing, training, cutover, and hypercare, including the first live close.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex finance issues in live environments and document root cause and resolution.
  • Partner with the project manager on estimates, sequencing, risk, and change control for the finance workstream.
  • Support pursuits through discovery sessions, finance solution positioning, and estimating.
  • Build reusable finance assets including configuration playbooks, templates, and demo data.
  • Mentor consultants on finance functional depth, configuration discipline, and client presence.
  • Track the Microsoft release wave roadmap for finance and translate what is coming into guidance for clients and the team.

Who You Are: 

  • Five or more years implementing Microsoft Dynamics ERP, with at least three years on Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations or Dynamics AX 2012.
  • Two or more full lifecycle D365 F&O implementations leading the finance workstream.
  • Deep functional command of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash and bank management, and financial dimensions.
  • Hands on experience designing a chart of accounts and dimension structure that serves both statutory and management reporting.
  • Demonstrated command of period close, month end reconciliation, and audit and control requirements in a live production environment.
  • Working experience with Financial Reporter or Management Reporter, including report and reporting tree design.
  • Experience with finance data migration and the Data Management Framework.
  • Practical understanding of Lifecycle Services, environment strategy, and the One Version release cadence.
  • Ability to lead workshops with finance leadership and drive decisions to closure.
  • Microsoft Certification (MB-310 - Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant).
