Job description

Reporting to the Construction Department, the Superintendent is responsible for the overall supervision of construction site activities, the coordination of subcontractors, and ensuring that schedules are met, in collaboration with the project managers:

  • Overall supervision of construction site activities;
  • Daily planning and coordination of subcontractors;
  • Ensuring construction schedules are met;
  • Management of health and safety on the construction site;
  • Facilitating site meetings;
  • Coordinating with the project manager and other professionals;
  • Monitoring the quality of work and resolving on-site issues.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • At least 7 to 10 years of on-site experience, including several years as a superintendent or senior foreman with a general contractor;
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $500,000 to $10,000,000;
  • Project Types: institutional, commercial, residential, new construction, major renovations;
  • Excellent ability to read blueprints and specifications;
  • Leadership and ability to manage multiple teams;
  • Strong organizational and planning skills;
  • Knowledge of CNESST/OHS standards;
  • ASP Construction card required;
  • Experience with Procore or other construction management software (a plus);
  • Strong network of subcontractors and on-site contacts (a plus);
  • Verifiable professional references.
