Concrete Laborer

GCS General Contracting Services Inc. is currently seeking motivated and dependable Concrete Laborers to join our growing team in the Edmonton area. We specialize in concrete construction, restoration, and landscape remediation projects and are looking for hardworking individuals who take pride in producing quality work in a safe and productive environment.

This position involves working on a variety of concrete and landscape remediation projects, operating in outdoor environments, and driving company vehicles to transport materials and equipment.

Preference will be given to applicants with previous concrete construction, landscaping, or general construction experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with concrete construction, repair, and remediation projects.
  • Restore and remediate landscaping in areas impacted by concrete work.
  • Perform excavation, digging, shoveling, backfilling, and site preparation activities.
  • Support quality control efforts to ensure work meets company and client standards.
  • Participate in all site safety activities, including pre-job orientations, toolbox meetings, and completion of required safety documentation.
  • Safely operate company trucks and trailers to transport materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Perform other general labour duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of construction labor experience.
  • Previous concrete or landscaping experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Clean Driver's Abstract with no more than 2 minor driving infractions within the past three years.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to safety and safe work practices.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality workmanship.

  • CSTS 2020 (Required)
  • Ground Disturbance Level II (Asset)
  • Whmis 2015
