Responsibilities

   Develops, implements, and maintains PCL safety program, including creating and influencing jobsite safety culture through mentorship and modeling and participating in district safety committee, and influences corporate safety policies and procedures.
   Consistently collaborates with construction/project manager and project team.
   Proactively identifies, manages, and resolves potential problems, work conflicts, or schedule challenges. Develops and implements recovery plan. Works with project team to anticipate and resolve project issues.
   Drives execution by establishing and communicating expectations for productivity, quality, performance, and safety.
   Oversees contractor coordination, workforce planning, resource forecasting, and project progress across multiple scopes.
   Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, other site contractors, labor representatives, and key stakeholders.
   Leads, coaches, mentors, and develops project teams, superintendents, and field personnel across one or multiple projects.
   Supports the recruitment, onboarding, placement, training, and development of field staff.
   Visualizes and conveys vision of an entire project, drives the project schedule's critical path, anticipates constructability issues and troubleshoots, and enhances solutions in the construction plans and schedules for multiple projects.
   Partners with project management teams to develop and implement Project Execution Plans (PEPs) and risk mitigation strategies for assigned projects.
   Oversees and drives development and execution of work plans; reviews work plans for complex work scopes.
   Ensures compliance with contracts, policies, procedures, quality standards, and project administration requirements for assigned projects.
   Optimizes labor, equipment, materials, construction methodologies, and cost control to achieve project objectives.
   Contributes to business growth and operational excellence through pursuit support, claims management, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

   Journeyman certificate or post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline. 
   NCSO designation and Gold Seal certifications preferred.
   20 years of progressive experience in field supervision preferred.
   Expert knowledge of the construction industry, company operations, project scope development, and the application of engineering principles, including valu engineering and defining scope limitations for pursuits.
   Ability to lead, mentor, and develop others while coordinating multiple scopes of work and planning, monitoring, and forecasting labour, materials, equipment, and schedule requirements.
   Understanding of collective agreements and jurisdiction assignment for multi-trade sites. Experience mitigating grievance and employee-relations issues.
   Thorough understanding of contract language and ability to identify and mitigate risks, and identify and leverage opportunities.
   Expert knowledge of and application of safety and environmental principles/ procedures/legislation and demonstrated experience in implementing a strong safety culture.
   Expert understanding of productivity rates or own forces work (OFW), Labor Cost Reports (LCRs), and ability to interpret cost reports.
   Ability to lead effective site meetings with the client, consultants, trades, and internal employees; ability to present at client meetings or for project pursuit work.
   Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
   Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
   Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, internal operational systems, and current technology.
