About the New York Philharmonic

The New York Philharmonic connects with millions of music lovers each season through live concerts in New York and around the world, as well as broadcasts, recordings, and education programs. After returning to a transformed David Geffen Hall in 2022, the Orchestra is acting on a renewed commitment to building on a legacy of more than 180 years, serving as a platform for todayโ€™s greatest musical artists and connecting with our communities. Gustavo Dudamel will become the Philharmonicโ€™s Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Music and Artistic Director in the 2026โ€“27 season.

About the Role

The New York Philharmonic seeks a collaborative and detail-oriented Manager, Foundation Relations to support and grow institutional fundraising efforts across the organization. This role plays a key part in securing foundation support across artistic, education, community, and media initiatives.

Working closely with Development, Finance, and program teams, this role leads the full grant lifecycle from prospect research and proposal development through stewardship and reporting, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and revenue goals.

This is an externally facing fundraising role that requires regular interaction with foundation partners and stakeholders. The position may also require occasional evening and weekend commitments based on events, donor engagement, and organizational needs.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Manage a portfolio of foundation donors across the full grant lifecycle
  • Develop and submit grant proposals and reports
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit new foundation prospects
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of institutional funders
  • Partner across teams to develop compelling proposals
  • Represent the organization in donor-facing settings, including funder briefings, program presentations, and hosting foundation partners at events
  • Coordinate proposal budgets with Finance and program teams
  • Track revenue progress and prepare updates for leadership
  • Ensure fulfillment of funder requirements and deliverables
  • Maintain accurate records in internal systems
  • Support Development events and donor engagement initiatives

What You Bring to the Team

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of development or fundraising experience
  • Experience managing grants, including proposal writing and reporting
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong writing, organization, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Work Arrangement

Salary: $73,699

This position operates in a hybrid work environment. Candidates should expect a regular in-office presence, particularly during the first several months, to support onboarding, relationship building, and operational integration. Ongoing hybrid flexibility is available based on role responsibilities and organizational needs.
