Job description

Gator Dredging - Dredge Operator - Leverman
Immediate Position available for a Dredge Operator. This is a great opportunity for an experienced dredge operator to join our growing team! Excellent benefits, vacation, sick and holiday paid time off. You must have at least 3 to 5 years of experience operating a Hydraulic Dredge.
Starting Hourly Pay Range for This Position: $25.00 to $30.00. This is based on previous work experience, skills, and current certifications / professional licenses.
Responsibilities for The Dredge Operator:
  • Operating and maintaining the hydraulic dredge
  • Completion of Daily Dredge and Maintenance Log
  • MUST be motivated and able to work independently
  • Be able to communicate well with the superintendent, boat operators, dredge engineer and deck hands
  • Assist in Mobilizations/Demobilizations as needed
  • Duties will include cleaning equipment, check fluids and grease daily
  • Position will include some miscellaneous laborer
  • Position will require out of town (Florida) travel for extended periods

Requirements for The Dredge Operator:
  • MUST have 5 + years plus in dredge operation experience
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's license
  • Experienced in Marine Construction
  • Heavy equipment experience a plus
  • OSHA Certifications a plus
  • Boating or Equipment Certifications a plus
  • Must be able to work outside for entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet) required
  • Be honest, hardworking, reliable, punctual and attitude to get the job done

Physical Demands/Work Environment for The Dredge Operator:
  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.
