Job description

Gate Keeper
The Gate Keeper serves as the first point of contact for all visitors, contractors, and commercial drivers entering the facility. This position is responsible for controlling site access, verifying scheduled deliveries and shipments, maintaining accurate visitor records, and coordinating with operations and shipping personnel to ensure safe and efficient movement throughout the facility.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Greet all visitors, contractors, and truck drivers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Verify visitor and driver identification prior to granting facility access.
  • Create and issue visitor and contractor badges while maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
  • Verify truck drivers are scheduled for pickups or deliveries before allowing entry onto the property.
  • Notify the Shipping Department of all arriving deliveries and outbound shipment pickups.
  • Communicate with Operations personnel regarding driver arrivals and coordinate truck movements throughout the facility.
  • Direct drivers to the appropriate loading, unloading, or staging areas while following established traffic patterns.
  • Monitor gate activity and maintain security by ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter the facility.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide basic information or route inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation of visitors, deliveries, and truck movements.
  • Follow all company safety policies, security procedures, and facility rules.
  • Perform other administrative and gate control duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
• May require a valid Driver's License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
• Speak, write, read fluent English
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
Work Schedule:
8 Hour Rotating Shift (Days/Nights/Weekends/Holidays)
