Job Description: Gate Guard

Location: 13520 Mercury Drive, Laredo, TX

Department: Cross-dock Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Shift Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

Monitor our Entry/Exit by physically doing inspections of carriers as well as visitors and vendors to protect the integrity of our facility.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and authorize/deny entrance of carriers, vendors, or visitors.
  • Create Trailer inspection reports for in or out going company equipment.
  • Review all related documentation for verification and entry approval.
  • Communicate and report (via radio) to dispatch personnel on all arriving loads.
  • Log and document all entries on physical log and computer log.
  • Create EOS report (CTPAT).
  • Follow all company processes.
  • Do facility round checks.
  • Some weekends are required with advanced notice.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required.


EXPERIENCE:

Guard experience preferred.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None


COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is within our cross-dock facility. You will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements set for entering the dock area. Such as but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket, and steel toe shoes or shoe coverings. You will also need to maintain any and all safety certifications and standards necessary as set by management.
