Job description

Position Summary

The Logistics Safety Coordinator operates within the GardaWorld Security Operations Center (SOC) and is responsible for the 24/7/365 safety of transportation logistics across the United States. This role actively utilizes Samsara to monitor driver behavior, review and escalate safety events, ensure driver safety compliance, and mitigate logistics risk.

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Driver Safety Monitoring & Risk Detection

  • Monitor and identify real-time transportation risk behaviors, including driver safety exceptions
  • Review daily safety camera events and driver safety scores to identify high-risk behaviors such as distraction, speeding, following distance, and harsh driving
  • Detect and assess safety and security incidents promptly, including unauthorized access and suspicious activity
  • Escalate incidents as needed to ensure timely and effective response
  • Support real-time intervention for critical driver safety events (e.g., distraction, drowsiness, severe speeding)

2. Safety Event Review & Case Management

  • Pull, review, and document video footage and telematics data for driver safety and security events
  • Route critical events and video clips to Safety leadership for timely review and action
  • Track coaching activities, corrective actions, and required follow-up actions
  • Maintain event documentation and case records for audits, claims, and investigations
  • Support real-time incident review and escalation using dashcam footage and telematics data

3. Coaching Support & Operational Partnership

  • Partner with Operations, Risk, and HR to support coaching, corrective actions, and driver accountability
  • Assist in identifying behavior trends and recurring risk patterns across drivers and regions
  • Ensure alignment between SOC monitoring activities and field execution of driver coaching
  • Collaborate with logistics teams and stakeholders to ensure effective coordination between SOC programs and operations

4. Samsara Platform Ownership & Data Analysis (Primary Focus)

  • Manage alerts, rules, dashboards, and reporting within the platform
  • Monitor vehicle activity, GPS tracking, idle time, and driver behavior metrics
  • Pull and analyze fleet data to support Operations, Safety, and Leadership decision-making
  • Support the development and refinement of driver safety scoring, event thresholds, and alert configurations

5. Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze driver safety trends, recurring risk behaviors, and event patterns across the fleet
  • Develop insights to support driver safety program improvements and risk reduction strategies
  • Maintain accurate reporting for management review, KPI tracking, and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct root cause analysis for significant incidents to identify systemic improvement opportunities
  • Participate in business continuity planning and after-action reviews to refine SOPs and apply lessons learned

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1–2+ years of experience in Security Operations Center (SOC), logistics monitoring, fleet management, driver safety, or related field
  • Experience with telematics systems (Samsara preferred), fleet management platforms, or case management systems
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify risk patterns
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with field teams and leadership
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, real-time operational environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, O365) and data reporting tools
  • Experience in supply chain risk management, logistics security, or logistics safety preferred
