Commissioned Security Officer

The Commissioned Security Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients. This position requires a proactive approach to security, strong observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations. The ideal candidate will possess a valid security commission and have a strong understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Monitor and control access points, ensuring that only authorized personnel enter the premises.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, assess the situation, and take appropriate action, including contacting law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
  • Prepare detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations, documenting any irregularities or security breaches.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients, employees, and visitors with inquiries and addressing their concerns in a professional manner.
  • Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported and addressed promptly.
  • Stay informed about current security practices, laws, and regulations; participate in ongoing training and development programs.
  • Work closely with other security personnel, law enforcement, and emergency responders to ensure a coordinated approach to security management.

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related field is a plus.
  • Previous security experience preferred; experience in law enforcement or military service is advantageous.
  • Valid commissioned security officer license as required by state regulations.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
