METER INSTALLER
We're looking to hire a DOT OQ Gas qualified Meter Installer / Relight Technician in West Palm Beach FL. The Technician is responsible for installing, testing, and replacing natural gas meters, as well as relighting appliances. The Technician assists with piping, safety checks, and documentation while maintaining strict adherence to DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Install, replace, or upgrade natural gas meters and regulators
  • Perform change-outs and gas utility meter installations
  • Assemble and install pipe fittings as required
  • Join piping using threading or other approved methods
  • Restore gas service ("relight") by safely turning gas back on after service or installation
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations and protocols
  • Practice a "safety first" attitude on every job site
  • Conduct leak checks, pressure tests, and equipment inspections
  • Follow gas handling and confined space entry procedures
  • Perform site assessments and record work completed
  • Complete daily service reports and paperwork accurately
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, and customers
  • Assist the crew with manual tasks to support job progress
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped work vehicle
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Driver's license
  • DOT medical card if operating company vehicle
  • 2 + years of experience
  • Proficient communication skills
  • General knowledge of construction and/or utility construction
  • Keen attention to safety
  • The physical activity required for this role includes:
    • Exposure to a range of weather conditions, including hot and cold weather
    • Walking on uneven and variable terrain
    • Sitting, standing, walking for extended periods
    • Able to enter and exit confined or narrow spaces
    • Work in confined or elevated work safe spaces
    • Frequently standing, walking, stooping, reaching, climbing, bending and reaching
