Job description

As a Senior Engineer, you'll work across the full stack of this app - from Chakra UI components and TanStack Router pages down to server functions that call Salesforce and other third-party APIs. You'll set technical direction within your domain, review code against our established architecture, and mentor other engineers on the team.
This role is 5-days a week onsite in Grapevine, TX.
What You'll Do
  • Design and build features across GameStop: routes, UI components, and the hooks/server-function layer that talks to Salesforce Commerce Cloud and other services
  • Write server-side data-fetching and mutation logic, following the established patterns
  • Write strict, type-safe TypeScript with Zod validation at API and form boundaries
  • Build and maintain the Chakra UI theme, design tokens, and reusable UI primitives
  • Own performance and reliability of a server-rendered app - SSR behavior, Core Web Vitals, and production monitoring via New Relic
  • Write unit tests for data transformations and validation logic, and contribute to the Cypress end-to-end test suite
  • Partner with the SFRA and OIDC provider teams to ensure the storefront integrates cleanly with authentication and any legacy Salesforce cartridge behavior
  • Participate in code review and uphold the team's architecture and folder-structure conventions
  • Mentor other engineers and help evolve technical standards as the codebase grows

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional experience building production React applications
  • Expert-level React and TypeScript practices
  • Experience with a full-stack/server-rendered React framework (e.g., TanStack Start, Next.js, Remix) and modern Vite-based tooling
  • Strong understanding of state management tradeoffs: server state, form state, and local UI state
  • Experience integrating REST APIs from the front end and/or server layer (Axios or similar HTTP clients)
  • Experience with a component library or design system (Chakra UI, MUI, or similar)
  • Comfort writing tests and working with e2e test suites (Cypress/Playwright)
  • Experience in a fast-paced ecommerce environment, including familiarity with checkout and payment flows
  • Proficiency with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong communication skills and experience mentoring other engineers

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud SCAPI (Shopper APIs), including SDKs like commerce-sdk-isomorphic
  • Experience with Salesforce SFRA (Storefront Reference Architecture) or other SFCC cartridge-based development
  • Familiarity with legacy Salesforce OCAPI
  • Experience with OIDC/OAuth authentication flows
  • Experience integrating payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal
  • Experience with headless CMS platforms (Amplience or similar) or ecommerce search/merchandising tools (Constructor.io, Algolia)
  • Experience deploying to Cloudflare Workers or similar edge platforms
  • Familiarity with Storybook for component development

What Makes You Stand Out
  • A track record of progressing from software engineer into senior or technical-lead roles
  • Experience owning a feature or platform area end-to-end in a fast-paced environment
  • A bias for action and comfort making tradeoffs in ambiguous situations to deliver customer impact
  • Genuine interest in gaming, retail, or ecommerce
