Job description

The Table Games Dealer shuffles and deals hands of cards to the players as appropriate for the assigned game. Provides exceptional service to all players and Team Members.


  • Provides exceptional guest service; uses proper greetings and salutations, smiles, makes eye contact, and projects a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Creates a welcoming entertainment experience by inviting guests to play, teaching guests about specific games, conversing with guests, and providing information about Resort amenities and services.
  • Remains focused on attracting table game activity during “dead spreads”.
  • Watches betting and verifies the ante or bet placed or increased.
  • Reviews and compares active hands of cards to determine the winning hand or hands.
  • Collects spent cards, shuffles and re-shuffles or re-deals as needed.
  • Converses with guests and assists the card game cashiers to settle bets.
  • Checks cards and card players for any illegal activity or violations of casino gaming rules and procedures and notifies supervisors or security of suspicious activity.
  • Assists in seating of card players and in summoning cashiers for guest’s assistance.
  • Assists card player to understand the rules of card playing games and betting rules involved in the game.
  • Works closely with security, surveillance, and other gaming Team Members.
  • Must be proficient and capable of dealing and shuffling cards with dexterity, including use of a box or shoe.
  • Sizes and counts gaming tokens or chips accurately and quickly.
  • Maintains the table bank.
  • Reads and counts cards and hands of cards while conversing with guests and placing, stacking, or removing bets without being distracted.
  • Detects and corrects any mistake either in betting or card play by any player, guest, or Cashier.
  • Assists guests in summoning a Beverage Server to serve the guest as promptly as possible.
  • Tallies and accounts for a bank and all playing cards at the beginning and end of the shift or when called upon by a supervisor.
  • Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration, while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Advanced knowledge of various types of table games.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, rules, and procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and Internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Must also apply for, receive, and maintain a Tribal Key License through the State of CA Gambling Control Commission.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
