Job Description
ECU Department of Student Life is currently seeking several Game Room Recreation Attendants.
The Recreations attendant is a part-time position that will work with and support the functions of the Student Centers by providing services in the Gaming Lounge. Gaming Lounge Attendants must work a minimum of 12 hours per week including weekend shifts. All Gaming Lounge attendants work weekend shifts.
The Recreations Attendants are expected to fulfill the following general roles and responsibilities:
  • Administrator: complete all necessary paperwork, forms, maintain logs and tasks as required, attend scheduled shifts, and know the staff manual protocols
  • Customer Service: acknowledging and greeting students, staff, faculty, and University guests. Know campus resources and departmental functions to work with faculty, staff, students, and guests of the University to connect each to the appropriate resources and assisting with navigating through campus. Keep supervisors informed. Help create a welcoming environment
  • Technical Skill: handle equipment, (I.e. gaming systems, billiards cues,) repairs, and set up games
  • Clerical Aid: maintain records and logs, answer telephone calls, and relay messages to the appropriate contact
  • Programming: Assist with recreation tournaments, leagues, gaming, summer camps, and special programs and events
  • Security: provide for the safety of patrons during events, enforce facility policies and capacity, deter theft, possess knowledge of emergency, evacuation, and lock down procedures
  • Team Member: attend all training sessions, support staff team and help when needed, and maintain positive communication with staff and all Student Life employees
  • University Representative: serve as a positive role model, serve the needs of students, staff, faculty, and University guests. Be mindful of social media tags/posts and represent Student Life and ECU positively
