Description
Performance Coach - Digital Retailing & Automotive Sales Strategy
Location: Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana Extensive Travel Required (16+ days/month)
Better Car People + Proactive Dealer Solutions (BCP + PDS) is an industry leader in automotive consulting and performance improvement. We partner with manufacturers and dealers to drive teams toward higher levels of performance, profitability, and growth. With cutting-edge technology, real-time data, and proven retail strategies, our approach transforms dealerships into modern, customer-first operations.
We're looking for a high-energy, results-driven Performance Coach to join our team. This is a high-impact role where you'll provide on-site coaching, training, and consulting to dealership teams - helping them optimize digital sales processes, improve customer engagement, and increase profitability. You'll be part of a forward-thinking team shaping the future of automotive retail.
What You'll Do
Client Engagement & Training
  • Deliver dynamic, in-person coaching on digital retailing strategies, online-to-showroom lead flow, and modern sales practices.
  • Guide teams on process adoption for both showroom and internet sales, ensuring high utilization of dealer technology platforms.
  • Work with all levels of dealership staff - executives, sales managers, service teams, and BDCs - to align on performance goals and implementation.

Sales & Digital Process Optimization
  • Help dealerships transition from traditional to modern selling approaches by coaching on end-to-end digital workflows, from online lead response to vehicle delivery.
  • Provide training on SaaS-based tools that support digital retailing, communication automation, and performance tracking.
  • Build strong client relationships through ongoing support, follow-ups, and performance reviews.

Problem Solving & Consulting
  • Identify performance gaps and tailor solutions based on dealership structure and customer experience goals.
  • Collaborate with dealer leadership to execute change management strategies and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Leverage insights and reporting tools to track progress and reinforce training effectiveness.

Travel & Presence
  • Spend a minimum of 75% of your time traveling to dealership locations across the region and U.S.
  • Actively engage onsite with teams to assess, train, and support in real-time.

What We're Looking For
  • Location: Must live within the Portland region (OR, WA, ID, MT) and be within 1 hour of a major airport.
  • Experience: 5+ years in dealership operations, BDC, or sales management; experience with digital retailing platforms is highly preferred.
  • Training/Coaching: Previous experience in training, coaching, or vendor-facing roles supporting dealerships is a strong advantage.
  • Communication: Strong ability to present, influence, and build trust across all levels of a dealership.
  • Tech-Savvy: Skilled in using and training others on SaaS tools that support automotive sales and service performance.
  • Autonomy: Self-motivated with excellent time management - able to manage your calendar, accounts, and in-store coaching independently.
  • Travel Ready: Able and willing to travel at least 16+ days per month.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Total Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000/year (based on performance and coaching effectiveness).
  • Growth Opportunities: Expand your career in a nationally respected organization with clear advancement pathways.

Why Join Us?
At BCP + PDS, you'll be part of a team that's shaping the digital future of auto retail. You'll work with dealerships that are embracing transformation - helping them modernize their approach and connect more effectively with today's customers. If you're a passionate coach who thrives on making an impact, we'd love to hear from you.
