As of Jun 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for full time doorman in the United States is $18.86, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.87 and $20.91 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A full-time doorman typically does not earn $10,000 a month without specialized experience or working in high-end luxury buildings. Most doorman positions offer salaries below that amount, but roles in luxury hotels or exclusive residential buildings with overtime or tips can sometimes reach higher earnings. Generally, achieving $10,000 monthly income without a degree requires advanced skills, entrepreneurship, or high-paying specialized roles outside standard doorman jobs.

How much does a doorman get paid an hour?

The hourly pay for a full-time doorman typically ranges from $12 to $20, depending on location, experience, and the employer. Doormen often work evening or overnight shifts and may receive additional benefits or tips in some settings.

What are the typical duties of a full time doorman?

A full time doorman is responsible for greeting residents and guests, monitoring building entry, accepting packages and deliveries, and providing general assistance to those entering or leaving the premises. They help ensure the security and safety of the building by keeping an eye on who comes and goes, and may also help with calling cabs, opening doors, or assisting residents with luggage. Additionally, doormen often serve as a helpful point of contact for residents, offering information or coordinating with building management as needed.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time Doorman, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Doorman, you need strong customer service skills, physical stamina, and reliability, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with intercom systems, building security protocols, and visitor management tools is typically required. Outstanding communication, discretion, and professionalism help build trust with residents and guests. These skills are crucial for ensuring safety, providing a welcoming atmosphere, and maintaining the smooth operation of the building.

What are some common challenges faced by full-time doormen and how can they be managed?

Full-time doormen often encounter challenges such as managing high foot traffic, addressing resident or guest concerns promptly, and maintaining building security during busy periods. Effective communication skills and staying calm under pressure are crucial for handling these situations. Doormen also need to be vigilant, as they are the first line of defense against unauthorized entry, while simultaneously providing courteous service to all residents and visitors. Regular training and clear protocols from building management help doormen navigate these challenges efficiently.

What is the difference between Full Time Doorman vs Part Time Doorman?

AspectFull Time DoormanPart Time Doorman

Full Time Doormen and Part Time Doormen work in similar environments, often in residential or hotel settings. The main difference lies in hours worked and sometimes in the level of certification required. Full Time Doormen provide consistent, around-the-clock service, while Part Time Doormen offer flexible, shorter shifts to supplement staffing needs.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Full Time Doormen typically do not earn $2000 a day; such high daily earnings are more common in specialized or high-level roles like executive consultants, certain sales positions, or business owners. Most doorman positions offer hourly wages or salaries significantly below that amount, often supplemented with tips or bonuses in luxury settings.

Which job is best for a 40 year old woman?

A full-time doorman role can be suitable for a 40-year-old woman, especially if she has good communication skills, physical stamina, and customer service experience. This job often involves shift work, security awareness, and interpersonal skills, making it accessible for individuals with diverse backgrounds.
