PRI represents several high-quality valves and related equipment throughout the US, Canada, and global markets, via a network of independent distributors. PRI has an internal team of sales and engineering personnel that function as a complete sales, service and warranty team for the products it represents. Valve products range from commodity to specialty, with a variety of simple to complex automation logic controls.


Position Overview

The Senior Account Manager enables, supports, and amplifies sales in multiple North American territories. The Senior Account Manager is a highly technical commercial role responsible for accelerating growth across assigned regions, by providing deep product expertise, application knowledge, and customer-facing leadership. A successful candidate will be responsible for establishing contact with existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and following up on potential leads. The Senior Account Manager will also monitor industry trends to further identify emerging markets and develop plans to utilize those markets to expand revenue.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Technical Sales Representatives, Inside Sales team, Engineering, Operations, Accounting, and suppliers to meet customer requirements
  • Main role is to expand our presence and sales in established and growing markets
  • Minimum Travel of 50%+ throughout the year
  • Evaluating customers' needs and building productive, long-lasting relationships
  • Forecast sales, develop โ€œout of the boxโ€ sales strategies/models, and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Understand competition and how to differentiate our solution in the applicable field
  • Meet personal and team sales targets
  • Research and generate accounts, and follow through with sales leads
  • Attend meetings, sales events, and trainings to keep abreast of the latest developments
  • Report and provide feedback to management
  • Maintain and expand client database within your assigned territory

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 10 yearsโ€™ experience in the industrial valve/valve automation industry, in any combination of customer service, inside sales, technical sales, technical support, field service, and valve repair/automation/warehouse services
  • 5+ years of experience within outside sales in the industrial valve/ball valve automation industry, commercial operations, sales operations or related roles
  • Demonstrable experience customer-service experience (data collection, product selection, quotation preparation and communication) related to industrial products
  • Ability to interact globally and interface effectively across regions and functions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high sense of urgency with a Customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to produce professional reports and presentations
  • Think outside of the box and be creative to provide solutions
  • Travel requirements globally โ€“ over 50%
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Experience using an ERP system to conduct sales, purchasing, and/or customer-management activities
  • Detail-oriented, curious and motivated to learn new things
  • Independent, proactive and self-motivated person who will offer exceptional service to our customers
  • Team-oriented, able to collaborate across functions and responsibility levels to help the organization succeed
  • Competitive with a strong desire to achieve your goals
  • Aptitude for understanding and developing industry knowledge

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred
  • Possess ability to work well with all management levels and between all departments
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.
