Job description

International Admissions Coordinator – University of Jamestown
Position Title: International Admissions Coordinator
Location: Jamestown, ND
Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month staff position
Application Deadline: Open until filled
FLSA Classification:  Exempt
The University of Jamestown is seeking an International Admissions Coordinator to begin immediately. This position serves as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) and will therefore oversee and coordinate all SEVIS Compliance Records and Student Visa needs. In addition, this person will serve more traditional admissions needs: guiding international students through the University’s enrollment funnel. Experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
•  Serve as Primary Designated School Official (PDSO): 
  • Maintain SEVIS records
  • Ensure SEVP compliance
  • Issue of immigration documents
  • Provide immigration advice and guidance
  • Facilitate CPT and OPT work authorization
  • Train and manage other DSOs
•  Application Review: Process evaluations from inquiry to admission evaluating transcripts and admissions documents.
•  Outreach and Communication: Respond to inquiries via phone, email, mailing, and social media, providing accurate information about academic programs, financial aid, and campus life. 
•  Event Coordination and Support: Assist in planning and executing on-campus and virtual recruitment events, such as open houses, admitted student days, and information sessions by supporting admissions leadership and assisting with special projects,
•  Data Management: Maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions and application statuses.
•  Collaboration: Work closely with the admissions team, financial aid office, and academic departments to ensure a seamless enrollment process.
•  Travel: 10% or less as the need arises.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Citizenship:  US Citizen or lawful permanent resident
  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree required
  • Qualifications/Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, managing multiple tasks and exceeding or meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional and detail-orientated
•  Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic, approachable, and committed to the mission and values of the University of Jamestown.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in higher education admissions or international student services
  • Familiarity with SEVIS/SEVP
  • Experience with Element or other similar CRM platforms.
  • Transcript evaluation experience
