Responsibilities
MV Transportation is seeking an Environmental Manager, who will partner with the client and MV Transportation as contracted to ensure municipal, state, and federal regulatory requirements are met. The candidate will have experience implementing a comprehensive Environmental Management Program (EMP) and an Environmental Management System (EMS).
The Environmental Manager will track updates to federal, state, and local legislation, including new regulations and requirements. He/she will manage all aspects of compliance and ensure that environmental standards are being followed daily, weekly, and monthly. He/she will also prepare reports on this compliance, or standards as needed for internal/external distribution.
Qualifications
Talent Requirements:
  • Shall possess appropriate educational training in environmental management and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience within the past five (5) years.
  • Appropriate educational training shall include at least a bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental management, biology, engineering, or a related field, and supplemented by specialized training or certifications in areas such as hazardous materials management, air quality, water pollution control, and sustainability practices.
  • Shall have documented training in air quality management, underground storage tank management and monitoring, hazardous materials management, and stormwater and water pollution control management.
  • Registered Environmental Manager Certificate (REM)
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations required.
  • Experience with environmental sustainability or related field preferred.
  • Ability to prepare budgets and conduct cost-benefit analysis.
  • Analyze the cost/benefit of implementing projected sustainability measures.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external distribution.
  • Monitor and track the sustainability program to ensure the company is accomplishing environmental objectives.
  • Good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient Computer Skills -Microsoft Office Suite (PPT proficiency required).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong technical expertise.
  • Must have superior time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Transit experience a plus.
  • Preferred HASTUS experience
