SUMMARY
Works closely with Kitting department to plan and conduct large critical moves inside the department, outside in the yard and loading of completed projects onto trucks
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Coordinates time and location of project moves between bays in the Assembly Department to support production flow and schedules.
  • Responsible for loading completed projects onto trucks.
  • Organizes the yard outside to maximize space and minimize the chance for damage.
  • Working with Assembly Supervisor to determine priorities and timing, sets out material for the next project.
  • Identifies, labels and organizes items that are stored outside.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift.
  • Safely operates large industrial forklift truck, overhead crane and straddle carriers to assist in loading or moving materials and products in the shipping department.
  • Ensures completed units are properly packaged and sealed for storage.
  • Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data
  • Reads bill of material to package parts/kits to customer requirements.
  • Follows work instructions from general description. Works with other team members to troubleshoot mechanical/fit issues in a satisfactory manner.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Ensures action items are complete.
  • Aides in preparation and disassembly of factory witness tests.
  • Prepares generator packages for shipment.
  • Loads generator enclosures and fuel tanks.
  • Completes inventory audits.
  • Spot checks enclosures in the yard.
  • Cleans and organizes work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience operating heavy equipment (straddle carriers, forklifts, cranes, etc.) is strongly preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.
