POSITION OVERVIEW
BMG is seeking a skilled and proactive Production Technician to join our New York City technical operations team. This role is essential to the successful execution of live broadcasts, ensuring all technical systems-including video, audio, and transmission-are configured, tested, and operating at peak performance. The ideal candidate has a deep technical understanding of live multi-camera workflows and thrives in high-pressure, live-to-air environments.

Work Schedule: Full-Time | In-Office, 5 Days per Week
Travel: Occasional travel for remote productions and site surveys
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Technician will be responsible for the technical integrity of our New York facility and field productions:
- Configure and operate video switchers, routers, and terminal gear for live broadcasts
- Setup and strike cameras, lighting, and audio equipment for studio and location shoots
- Manage transmission paths including satellite, fiber, and IP-based delivery systems
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of broadcast hardware and software
- Support remote productions through flypack deployment and mobile unit integration
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of technical experience in live broadcast or event production
- Proficiency with professional camera systems, video switchers (Ross, Sony), and audio consoles
- Solid understanding of signal flow, IP networking, and broadcast engineering standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform technical setups in various environments
