Job description

We are searching for a full-time Software Engineer to be part of the founding team and work on automating life science methodology.
As a Full Stack Software Engineer you'll be an integral part of our founding engineering team developing the storage, analysis, and edge UI components for our product. You'll have the opportunity to shape the direction of the product while using modern technologies like Vue.JS, docker, PostgreSQL, and hyperscaler cloud infrastructure.
The Opportunity
  • Design and build production-grade biology automation solutions
  • Architect infrastructure for AI at the edge
  • Ship quality, well-tested code on a modern technology stack in the cloud and on the edge
  • Partner with founder and other engineers to build container deployment infrastructure, end user environment, and machine learning pipelines
  • Develop as an engineer while building great tools for science!

You'll Need
  • 2+ years hands on experience as a Software Engineer writing production-quality code in Python
  • Experience building Javascript clients
  • Experience maintaining containerized services using docker on cloud infrastructure
  • Experience creating relational databases and their schema
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a collaborative and fast-paced Agile team environment
  • Desire to grow and learn while innovating on a system that grows and learns

Bonus
  • BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
  • Developed, deployed, and run a personal cloud product
  • Experience with C/C++
  • Experience with Vue.JS, docker, and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with containerization and service architectures
  • Experience with video and machine vision systems
  • Experience with scientific computing or laboratory automation

Culture
We think culture is something we build together, and should be used to motivate and cohere, rather than to exclude. If you are curious and excited about science and technology, enjoying working in a high autonomy, high accountability, and hands on environment, there's a good chance you'll be energized working here. We have a strong goal-oriented and asynchronous culture, so cogent and pithy writers will flourish. We emphasize learning and transparency and look for people who can expand the product's capabilities as well as their own.
