While both work in HR environments, the certification signifies a higher level of expertise and specialization compared to the more operational role of an HR Coordinator.

Is having a full time SHRM certification worth it?

A full-time SHRM certification can enhance a human resources professional's credentials, potentially leading to better job opportunities and higher salaries. It demonstrates knowledge of HR best practices and may be required or preferred for certain HR roles, especially those involving strategic planning or leadership. However, its value depends on individual career goals and the specific industry or organization.

What jobs can I get with a full time SHRM certification?

A full-time SHRM certification qualifies individuals for roles such as HR Manager, HR Director, Talent Acquisition Specialist, Employee Relations Manager, and HR Generalist. These positions typically involve managing HR policies, employee engagement, compliance, and strategic planning within organizations. The certification demonstrates knowledge of HR best practices and often requires experience with HRIS systems and employment law.

About Frontline Group

Frontline Group is a 100% remote BPO and contact center organization delivering customer support and customer experience programs across a range of business segments. Our team of approximately 100 employees works from home across a growing number of states.

We have made a deliberate decision to keep HR in house rather than outsource it. That means this role is not an administrative support seat inside a large HR department. It is our HR function, reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer with full executive backing.

About the Role

We are hiring an HR Generalist / Recruiter to own the day-to-day people operations of a multi-state remote workforce. Roughly 80% of this role is true HR generalist work: multi-state compliance, payroll and benefits administration, open enrollment, 401(k) and required filings, employee relations, and policy. The remaining 20% is recruiting, primarily high-volume hiring for our contact center.

This is a hands-on, do-the-work role for someone who is comfortable being the subject matter expert in the room, not someone who needs a team above them to escalate to. If you like variety, own your outcomes, and take pride in a clean compliance calendar and a well-run open enrollment, you will do well here.

What You'll Own

HR Generalist

  • Multi-state compliance. Maintain compliance with federal and state employment law in every state where we employ, including wage and hour, sick leave and PTO accrual rules, required notices, and new state registrations as we expand.
  • Wage Administration -Ensure accurate, on-time payroll for a remote hourly and salaried workforce, including multi-state tax setup, accrual configuration, and audit of time records.
  • Administer medical, dental, vision, life, and 401(k) plans. Own annual open enrollment end to end - carrier and broker coordination, employee communications, elections, and reconciliation.
  • Retirement and filings. Support 401(k) plan administration and the annual Form 5500, EEO-1, and other quarterly and annual compliance reporting. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
  • Risk and claims. Manage workers' compensation, unemployment claims and state unemployment insurance rates, EEOC inquiries, and professional liability documentation.
  • Employee relations. Coach managers through performance conversations. Investigate and document concerns, manage performance improvement plans, and handle disciplinary action and terminations with clean, defensible documentation.
  • Policy and handbook. Maintain the employee handbook and HR policy library, keep state-specific addenda current, and update onboarding documentation as law and business needs change.
  • HRIS ownership. Own BambooHR as our system of record - data integrity, workflows, document management and e-signature, and reporting to leadership.
  • Onboarding and offboarding. Run the full lifecycle, including I-9 and E-Verify, state-specific onboarding packets, benefits enrollment, and a consistent exit process.
  • Leave administration. Administer FMLA, state paid leave programs, and ADA accommodation requests.
  • Compensation Strategy - Support periodic compensation benchmarking and pay review cycles.
  • Finance partnership. Work alongside the CFO on benefits and payroll cost analysis, headcount planning, and vendor and broker evaluation. Comfort discussing numbers with a finance leader is essential.

Recruiting

  • Run full-cycle recruiting for contact center roles - customer service representatives, team leads, and support staff - plus occasional corporate and sales openings.
  • Post and manage listings across Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and other job boards, and manage sourcing spend efficiently.
  • Screen applicants and conduct phone and video interviews, then present qualified shortlists to hiring managers.
  • Coordinate interviews, references, background checks, and offers.
  • Maintain a warm candidate pipeline so we can staff new programs quickly rather than starting from zero each time.
  • Track and report on time-to-fill, source quality, and pipeline health.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification, active and in good standing. This is a firm requirement - our handbook and policy library are maintained under a SHRM license.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, including at least 2 years supporting employees in multiple states.
  • Working knowledge of multi-state employment law covering wage and hour, leave, and termination requirements.
  • Hands-on payroll and benefits administration experience, including running at least one full open enrollment cycle.
  • 1+ years of recruiting experience; high-volume contact center or customer service hiring strongly preferred.
  • Experience with BambooHR or a comparable HRIS and applicant tracking system.
  • Proven discretion and sound judgment with confidential employee information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - you can explain a policy clearly to a remote employee who has never met you in person.
  • Self-directed and organized enough to run a compliance calendar without being reminded.
  • Reliable home office with high-speed internet and a private space for confidential conversations.

Preferred

  • Experience in a BPO, contact center, or other high-volume hourly environment.
  • Experience supporting a workforce of 100 or more.
  • Hands-on Form 5500 and EEO-1 filing experience.
  • California employment law exposure - we are expanding into additional states.
  • Experience evaluating benefits brokers, PEOs, or other HR vendors.

What Success Looks Like

  • First 30 days. BambooHR audited and accurate, active requisitions triaged, and an open enrollment plan and timeline in place.
  • First 90 days. Open enrollment delivered on time, a compliance calendar built covering every state we operate in, handbook and state addenda reviewed, and a steady recruiting pipeline.
  • First 6 months. Quarterly and annual filings on schedule with no lapses, managers coached and confident in handling day-to-day people issues, and time-to-fill trending down.

Why Work With Us

  • 100% remote - permanently, not temporarily.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
  • Flexible schedule and a team-first culture.
  • A real seat at the table. You report directly to the CFO, so your recommendations go straight to the people who decide.
  • Genuine ownership. This is the whole HR function, not a slice of it.

How to Apply

Please apply with your resume and include (1) your SHRM certification type and expiration, and (2) the states in which you have personally supported employees. Applications that address both will be reviewed first.

Frontline Group is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
