JOB DESCRIPTION


Summary/Objective

The Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resource function, also including administration of Safety Programs and Training Programs.


Essential Functions

  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations. Maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Including improvement of employee productivity and time worked reports.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of departments in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of departments and services performed.
  • Administers company-wide training and development programs.
  • Administers Safety Program
  • Monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Develops and maintains Affirmative Action Program, maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations.
  • Recruit, interview and screen job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings. Responsible for handling of applications and job position inquiries.
  • Conducts onboarding process, pre-employment drug screening, background checks (including Work Comp), E-Verify and new hire orientation.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and complies reports from database.
  • Maintains personnel files, including employee attendance, training, HIPAA and FMLA regulations.
  • Represents the company in unemployment claims (OSCAR).
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment law.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to company and OSHA safety guidelines. All protective equipment is to be worn as required.

Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.


Required Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resource experience.

Knowledge of Manufacturing Industry is preferred.

  1. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
