As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol in Hartford, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this role, you will support daily operations with agility, reliability, and integrity while working as part of a team that puts people first and values innovative service.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related screening, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas, assist with directional questions and/or crowd flow, and report maintenance issues, hazards, or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support daily operations by completing incident reports, maintaining post logs, and following Allied Universal standards along with site-specific policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
