Director of Retail Sales Strategy Employment Type: Full-Time Our client is a high-growth consumer packaged goods company seeking a strategic, data-driven, and collaborative leader to serve as Director of Retail Sales Strategy. This role will strengthen sales planning across all classes of trade and help drive disciplined, omnichannel growth in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in retail sales strategy, forecasting, customer planning, and cross-functional leadership within consumer products. They will connect field sales, brand, marketing, finance, supply chain, and shopper teams to align priorities, improve execution, and deliver sustainable commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between field sales and internal business teams, ensuring visibility into strategic priorities, brand initiatives, and performance targets. • Lead cross-functional planning and alignment for innovation launches, KPI development, inventory management, financial planning, and monthly S&OP processes. • Translate marketing, brand, and shopper investment plans into clear forecasting and planning assumptions by channel, customer segment, and class of trade. • Develop and maintain sales planning frameworks that support omnichannel growth across retail, e-commerce, and emerging channels. • Partner with sales leadership to establish account-level growth strategies, performance targets, and action plans. • Analyze customer, category, market, and promotional performance data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities. • Improve forecasting accuracy through disciplined demand-planning processes and close collaboration with supply chain and finance partners. • Build reporting tools and business reviews that provide clear visibility into sales performance, inventory health, and strategic priorities. • Support annual operating plans, customer planning cycles, and long-range commercial strategy development. • Champion continuous improvement in sales operations, planning processes, data quality, and cross-functional decision-making. Qualifications • Demonstrated leadership experience in retail sales strategy, sales planning, commercial operations, or customer development within consumer packaged goods. • Strong background in omnichannel retail environments, including traditional retail, specialty, e-commerce, and/or mass-market channels. • Exceptional analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations. • Experience with forecasting, demand planning, S&OP, customer planning, and performance management. • Proven ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively across sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, and executive stakeholders. • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills. • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
