Description
AO Multispecialty Clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Rheumatology team.
This provider will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to deliver comprehensive care for patients with autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal conditions. The role includes patient evaluation, treatment planning, medication management, patient education, and ongoing disease monitoring.
The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality care while building long-term relationships with patients managing chronic conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Management
  • Evaluate and manage patients with rheumatologic conditions under established protocols and physician collaboration
  • Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform physical examinations
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and diagnostic evaluations
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record
Chronic Disease Management
  • Manage patients with conditions including:
    • Rheumatoid Arthritis
    • Psoriatic Arthritis
    • Ankylosing Spondylitis
    • Lupus
    • Vasculitis
    • Gout
    • Osteoporosis
    • Other autoimmune and inflammatory disorders
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and disease activity
  • Assist with biologic and specialty medication management
  • Review laboratory monitoring requirements for disease-modifying therapies
Patient Education & Support
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and disease management strategies
  • Counsel patients on medication administration, side effects, and treatment expectations
  • Support patient adherence to treatment plans and follow-up recommendations
  • Promote preventative care and healthy lifestyle practices

Requirements
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Active and unrestricted Georgia license (or eligibility)
  • National board certification required
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Preferred
  • Previous experience in Rheumatology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Orthopedics, or another related specialty
  • Experience managing chronic disease populations
  • Familiarity with biologic therapies and specialty medications
  • Experience using electronic medical records
