Practice Setting and Clinical Scope
As a Medical Hematologist/Oncologist, you will oversee all aspects of diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and treatment of hematology/oncology patients. The infusion center, requiring your onsite presence for all treatments, offers services such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood/platelet transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotic therapy, rheumatoid arthritis injections, and therapeutic phlebotomies. With an average patient volume of 15-20 per day, you will handle a diverse range of cases, ensuring a dynamic and engaging practice environment.
Schedule and Assignment Details
This locum assignment offers a predictable Monday through Friday schedule, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The coverage will span several weeks between April and August, providing a structured work-life balance and the opportunity to plan personal time around professional commitments.
Support and Work Environment
Join a supportive and collaborative work environment, featuring a dedicated team comprising one clinic RN, two MAs, two front office clerks, one quality analyst/billing specialist, and ten infusion RNs. The practice utilizes iKnowmed for clinic EMR and Cerner for infusion services, ensuring efficient and effective patient record management.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology or Hematology.
- Active California Medical License.
- Completion of a recognized Fellowship in Oncology or Hematology.
- DEA certification required; ACLS certification needed if requesting Moderate Sedation Privileges.
