Practice Setting and Clinical Scope
This opportunity involves overseeing both Oncology/Hematology clinics and infusion services within a well-established medical center. You will manage all aspects of diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and treatment of hematology and oncology patients. The infusion center provides comprehensive treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood/platelet transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotic therapy, rheumatoid arthritis injections, and therapeutic phlebotomies. The role requires a physician presence onsite for all treatments, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
Schedule and Assignment Details
The position offers a balanced schedule, with clinic hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, complemented by remote weekend call coverage from Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 8:00 AM. Weeknight call duties extend from Monday through Thursday, 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The schedule is designed to provide a predictable work-life balance, with specific coverage needed across various dates throughout the coming months.
Support and Work Environment
Join a team that values collaboration and excellence in patient care. You will work alongside a dedicated support team, including 1 clinic RN, 2 Medical Assistants, 2 front office clerks, 1 quality analyst/billing professional, and 10 infusion RNs. The medical center utilizes iKnowmed for clinic EMR and Cerner for infusion services, providing a seamless integration of patient records and care management. The role is open due to a shortage of providers, presenting a vital opportunity to contribute to a community in need.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology and Hematology.
- Active California medical license required.
- Fellowship training in Oncology or Hematology is essential.
- DEA certification necessary; ACLS required if requesting moderate sedation privileges.
