Main purpose of the Janitor role:

The Janitorial & Facilities Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning facility through daily janitorial services and facility maintenance support. This position helps ensure a welcoming, hygienic, and operational environment for employees, visitors, and customers. This is a full-time position.

Major Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, warehouse areas, and other common spaces.
  • Sweep, dust, mop, wipe, and vacuum floors, surfaces, and fixtures.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility and ensure proper waste disposal.
  • Restock restroom supplies, break-room items, and janitorial supplies as needed.
  • Follow all company cleaning standards, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Inspect facility conditions and report maintenance or repair needs to the Supervisor or building engineers.
  • Maintain inventory of janitorial and facility supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Maintain direct communication with the Security Command Center regarding facility-related matters.
  • Assist with vendor visits, service appointments, and contractor access as required.
  • Respond to employee and departmental requests related to facilities and janitorial services.
  • Perform light facility maintenance, including minor repairs and general upkeep tasks.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of facility improvement and maintenance projects.
  • Maintain reliable phone availability during scheduled working hours.
  • Support additional facility and janitorial duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Required Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Safe and proper use of cleaning supplies/equipment
  • Physical capability

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior cleaning, janitorial, custodial knowledge- office/warehouse (1 year +) • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule
  • Physically lift 20lbs, Stand, Bend, and move for extended period of time
  • General Tool Knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic facility maintenance experience, including minor repairs, troubleshooting, and general building upkeep preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, contractors, and management
  • Previous janitorial, custodial, facilities, or building maintenance experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
