• Conduct initial evaluations to assess the mental health needs of trauma patients, developing individualized treatment plans tailored to their unique circumstances.
• Engage in active listening and empathetic communication to fully understand patients' concerns, helping to build a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.
• Create and implement coping strategies and therapeutic interventions that empower patients to address their emotional and psychological challenges effectively.
• Regularly monitor patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary based on observed outcomes and evolving patient needs.
• Coordinate with local social services, healthcare providers, and community outreach programs to ensure patients have access to comprehensive resources and support services.
• Educate staff and patients on effective coping mechanisms related to stress and trauma to foster an environment of awareness and mindfulness.
• Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in mental health counseling through continuing education programs and professional development opportunities.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field is required.
• A valid license as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) is mandatory.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience working with patients who have experienced trauma.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to maintain accurate patient records and engage in digital communication.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective interactions with patients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with Salesforce and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is highly desirable.

Experience with evidence-based therapeutic modalities specific to trauma treatment, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), is preferred. Familiarity with community health resources and holistic approaches to mental healthcare would be advantageous in this role.
