Job description

The Applications Configuration Specialist will function as a subject matter expert on core business functions, processes, workflows, application configurations, and product support for the business units utilizing healthcare management software. In this role, the specialist will demonstrate advanced technological, organizational, and leadership skills, and provide a collaborative conduit between the IT department, the business units, and the vendor support team. They will be responsible for the workflow design, data collection, configuration, testing, maintenance, and implementation of new requirements for the healthcare management software.

This position is fulltime remote. Selected candidate must reside in North Carolina. Some travel for onsite meetings to the Home office at Morrisville may be required.

Responsibilities & Duties

Development, configuration, and support activities for the Application product line

  • Responsible for configuration, data management, development of correspondences, assessments, sentinel rules, alerts, reports, and modification of records, tables, master files, etc...
  • Provides development and support activities for the Application product line, including maintenance and migration of the product configuration, system databases, code tables, data loads and verification, product XML standards, user-defined fields, etc. 
  • Reviews and participates in resolving issues with data loads, workflows, configurations, rule processing, etc.
  • Analyzes proposed product design and configuration changes to determine the effect on the overall system and suggest appropriate alternatives and solutions.
  • Has an extensive understanding of the business unit's function and can effectively communicate technical issues and solutions in non-technical terms to the business unit.
  • Supports the configuration control process during product configuration, testing, and migration between environments, including business reviews and approvals.
  • Provides advice and guidance on methods, procedures, and requirements to individuals responsible for creating documentation

Oversee end-to-end testing

  • Write and perform unit, end-to-end testing, and debugging—set test conditions based on code specifications. 
  • Able to analyze and debug complex data errors and provide resolutions as required. 

Documentation development and maintenance

  • Develop and implement detailed workflows and process improvement in a healthcare environment to deliver high-impact solutions to the organization.
  • Identify and document the functional and technical characteristics of the product configuration, provide the appropriate change control document, and report those changes.
  • Provide version control and documentation of all element migrations between the various Application environments.
  • Provides advice and guidance on methods, procedures and requirements to individuals responsible for the creation of documentation

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience 

Graduation from a Community College or Technical School with a degree in Computer Science or a related field and five (5) years of experience with increasing responsibilities in configuration management and/or supporting information technology in a healthcare setting. Experience in an IT-related position or field of work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred:  Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, or related field and four years of progressive experience in the field of information technology

• Experience in insurance or healthcare industries is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Expert knowledge in configuring software applications.
  • Expert knowledge in T-SQL scripting and database functionality.
  • Expert knowledge of debugging complex stored procedures. 
  • Expert knowledge of the Software and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Skilled in developing and managing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).  
  • Experience with debugging code in Visual Studio 2015+
  • Experience working in an agile and collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with XML and JSON data structures 
  • Experience with C# development
  • Experience with HL7 FHIR
  • Experience with PowerBI
  • Knowledge of USCDI
  • Ability to align projects with corporate strategy, business requirements, and IT capabilities
  • Ability to conduct data analysis on databases/data sets and to understand data, find and work to correct data quality issues.
  • Ability to grasp complex systems logic and integration requirements
  • Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions consistent with corporate business objectives and strategy.

Employment for this position is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and credit check, which will be performed after acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to the employee's start date. 

 

Salary Range 

 

$93,772-$119,495/Annually 

 

Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
