  • Utilize evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-focused therapies, to effectively treat a wide array of mental health concerns.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that encourage personal growth, emotional regulation, and the development of effective coping mechanisms.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers, ensuring each student receives holistic, coordinated care.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and support during urgent mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and coordinating referrals when higher levels of care are required.
  • Provide psychoeducation to students and families, equipping them with insights into mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities that promote collaboration and continual learning.
  • Stay informed on current laws, protocols, and ethical guidelines relating to mental health services within educational contexts.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on serving students from diverse backgrounds within our educational institution. You will encounter various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, and behavioral concerns. Your work will significantly impact these young individuals' academic performance, social interactions, and overall emotional health, thereby creating a lasting positive influence on their lives.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid LCSW licensure in Virginia.
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical or educational setting, with a strong understanding of student mental health.
  • A comprehensive grasp of mental health diagnoses, evidence-based treatment principles, and trauma-informed care practices.
  • Proficiency in conducting mental health evaluations and formulating appropriate treatment plans based on the specific needs of students.
  • Experience delivering both individual and group therapeutic interventions, employing various approaches tailored to the client's needs.
  • Strong crisis management skills, showing calmness and professionalism when handling high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on building rapport and trust with a diverse student population.
  • Competence in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and a sound understanding of computer applications.
  • A commitment to teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary staff.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working within a school-based mental health program or with adolescents in a therapeutic context.
  • Familiarity with local community resources that can support students and families.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. Our holistic benefits package includes comprehensive healthcare services encompassing medical, dental, and vision plans, alongside a retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions.
